Congratulations on Completing Week One of Remote Learning! We will continue to learn, grow and adapt together.

Our theme, We are Stronger Together embodies the mentality that we should embrace at this time. Our collective wisdom, strength and expertise will carry us through this challenging situation. The Shelter in Place Order has surfaced the need to draw upon past experiences for inspiration. I am reminded that many of our ancestors persevered through excruciating circumstances. They did this through collective work and support for one another. We miss the in person contact with our students. While things are uncertain right now, we will get through this together.

We hope you had an opportunity to respond to the parent survey administered yesterday. We will use this data to inform our decisions moving forward. Please continue to read the communications from our Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. Remember to take care of your family and yourself. Hang in there Panthers.

How Long Will We Be Doing this Remote Learning Thing?

As you all know, there is a Shelter in Place order through April 7th.  As additional information becomes available, I will update you accordingly. Recent communications from the county and the public health infrastructure, reinforce the notion that we should all take this shelter order seriously. Please do everything you can to minimize exposure.

Helpful Information

  • Keep Kids Accountable at Home (Spanish)
  • Daily Lunch Service - Principals are serving lunch to our students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch Monday-Friday from 12-1:00 in front of Vallecito.
  • Parents at home. For parents, Common Sense Media has an excellent collection of resources, tools, and recommendations. Additionally, the National Association of School Psychologists has published a great Parent Resource to guide family discussion about the Coronavirus.
  • Resource Library. We have assembled these and many other resources you may find helpful in our new Resource Library addressing specific topics such as Talking to Kids About the Coronavirus, Wellness, Maps, and more.
  • Miller Creek Remote Learning Resources  FAQs for Parents - Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Most Common Remote Learning Tech Questions
  • MC Campus is Closed. Please understand that our campus is closed. This means that staff is not available to allow students to get into lockers or classrooms. It's really important that we observe the shelter in place order. Thanks for understanding!

Spirit Wear Friday

Remote learning and social distancing didn't get in the way of these Panthers showing their school spirit. Way to go Panthers!

During this time of social distancing and remote learning, we have been thinking of ways to connect and support each other. We have been hearing from many parents and students about creative ways to connect with each other.  Check out this list from our partners at Beyond Differences for other ideas.  Please fill out this form to tell us one thing you are going to do to connect and support others.

Do you need support right now?  Please reach out to your school counselors and we can set up a counseling check-in next week.  We are here for you!
