A huge shout out to Mr. Schulist, for organizing student volunteers to give goodies and write down names - they were really awesome! Safe Routes to School hopes to do much more education and encouragement during the 2021-2022 school year.

Thank you CAN DO! for sponsoring MCMS clubs. This week CAN DO! Hosted pizza lunches for all of our MCMS clubs. Many students attended Art club, QSA and Games club this week in the Miller Creek Garden.

MC Leadership Ally Team (LAT)

This month, LAT led a social justice poetry challenge in honor of AAPI Heritage Month. Students may continue to submit their pieces here until the end of this month. LAT reps also led their homerooms in signing the No Place for Hate-Resolution for Respect poster. Students pledged to stand together against hate, discrimination, and bias.

Seventh graders attending school in-person will be taking the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS), sponsored by the California Department of Education, between May 24th and May 28th. This important survey gathers information related to school connectedness and barriers to learning, as well as behaviors such as physical activity and nutritional habits; alcohol, tobacco and other drug use; and risk of depression and perceived sexual orientation. Since the data from the survey results will further help us plan student support services for next year, we encourage all 7th graders to participate. If parents do not want their child to complete the survey, they must notify the school by completing the withdrawal form found here and returning it to the front office.  You may examine the questionnaire on the district website or by clicking here.
