Picture Day for those who were not photographed in October

Picture Day info was sent home yesterday and call slips will be sent to students on Monday, Dec. 9th to tell students when and where to go for your picture. PLease know that the photos will be taken in 6th and 7th periods only on Monday, Dec. 9th. Any questions, see Ms. McGuinness in the front office.

Safety Concern:

Please do NOT walk behind the D-3 building(see above images) in the muddy area to get to G-4, G-5, and G-6. Please walk around the front side of the building. It is way too muddy and then that dirt is being tracked into the classrooms. Please do not walk along the track area to get to your classes.

Geography

Thank goodness California is kissed by the Pacific, unlike New Mexico and Afghanistan.  Are your geographers starting to emerge from your homeroom? The Bee is Monday December 16th, after school - preliminary testing is next Tuesday - stay tuned, you are nowhere without Geography!

The World Champion Paper Airplane Maker -

will be doing a presentation today at study hall in G-1 (Mr. Schulist's classroom). There is room for up to 32 students. Come early to get a seat. John Collins has presented his airplane expertise throughout the world, and has been on TV multiple times to share his work.

SpanishClub

Spanish Club meets today in G-6 for Movie Miércoles.  We are watching "Lluvia de Hamburguesas". We will also learn a new game.  Come right away with your lunch.

Speech and Debate

Speech and Debate Club is Starting. Come to Study hall with Mr. Breece to find out about this club and join our championship team! Thursday at Study Hall  in C-2.

Drama Club

Drama Club will be meeting this Thursday in A3 at lunch first bell for all students attending the CETA state drama competition.  Come to the meeting with your materials ready for approval and sign up for a coaching session next week where you should have your materials memorized. This drama meeting is for competitors only, next general Drama Club meeting will be after Winter Break. Also, this weekend's field trip to see Les Miserables has been postponed to January 11th due to conflict at the theater. Thanks! *Jazzhands*

Strategic Games

Strategic Games Club: Reminder - the Strategic Games Club has moved to Fridays at lunch - same place, room B5. Bring your Bay Blades for battle tournaments beginning this Friday.

Geography Time:

In three weeks Miller Creek will hold its 25th Geography Bee.  Hone your skills and earn Homeroom points by answering the question presented over the PA.  And think about representing your Homeroom in our Bee. Sign up next week for the preliminary Geo-quiz in your homeroom today!

Art Club News

Art club will be starting the next project this Wednesday at lunch so come right at the first bell and bring your lunch. We will be creating winter ornaments out of clay! Please sign up in the office and note that this will be a 2 week project so please make a commitment of being available for both dates 12/4 & 12/11.

There are only 25 spaces available so please sign up before art club on Wednesday!

YES News

Any interested students (8th graders can receive YES time) who want to help make holiday cards for U.S. soldiers, please come to Ms. Meschery's room C1 at lunch. Come asap, you may bring your lunch. Thanks. 

Holiday Donations

8th graders and staff who want to participate, The Holiday Giving Garland is now up in Ms. Meschery’s room and gift tags are available to pull for the gift giving program for seniors, families and children living in Marin's homeless shelters." 

 

Remember the homeroom holiday toy drive is now on. All students are encouraged to donate toys, books, etc… for kids of all ages. Please put the toys in the box located in your homeroom and remember to leave the items unwrapped.
